Another Trip Down to the Treasure Tunnels

Blueprint Gaming has rolled out a third chapter in its branded Goonies series, following on from the original release and the 2022 sequel. The studio has clearly leaned into what worked best in its recent collector-style hits, building the new title around a long progression trail, expanding Collect symbols and a layered bonus round that climbs through three increasingly aggressive tiers.

How the Base Game Plays

The reels run on a six-reel layout where Collect symbols can drop on the outermost reels and sweep inward, scooping up every cash value currently sitting on the grid. Each Collect that lands also pushes a meter forward, and as the trail fills, new mechanics switch on one after another — Add Collect, Treasure Wheel, Rush Collect, Boost Collect and finally a Walking Collect that drifts across the reels. The deeper a session goes, the more of these modifiers are stacked into the next spin.

Sloth handles the random side of the action. His "Hey You Guys" modifiers can fire at any moment, dropping scatters into view, wiping low-paying symbols for a respin, upgrading icons into premiums or wilds, or flooding the reels with cash prizes and treasure tiles.

Treasure Spins and the Three Chest Tiers

Three or more bonus scatters open the Treasure Spins round with ten free spins on the clock. Extra scatters at the trigger drop additional cash values onto the reels before the feature starts, and the coloured chests collected on the way in decide the flavour of the bonus: one chest unlocks Super, two trigger Mega and a full set of three flips the round into the Ultra Bonus.

Anything unlocked on the progression trail stays active during the feature, and Collect symbols keep doing their job throughout. Hitting larger Collect totals adds extra spins to the round and pushes the collection multiplier up the ladder, capping out at x10. A separate Chests of Riches mechanic can also slot keys into the chests, boosting how strong the next trigger lands.

Verdict

Where some licensed slots coast on the brand alone, this one genuinely tries to earn its keep mechanically. There is almost always something unlocking, upgrading or evolving, which keeps the pacing busier than the average collector. The flip side is that the design occasionally tips into clutter — between the trail, the random modifiers, the chest upgrades and the tiered bonuses, there are stretches where it feels more like juggling systems than spinning a slot, and the Goonies licence is starting to feel well-worn after this many revisits.

Even so, for players who enjoy progression-heavy bonus structures and fans of the film, this is comfortably one of the more substantial Goonies releases Blueprint has shipped to date. The constant unlocks give the round-to-round flow a sense of forward momentum that a lot of collect-style slots simply do not have.
