The ducks are back, and now they're hunting you. Nolimit City has released Duck Hunters 2, a sequel that moves the action deeper into the woods. It brings back the original's position multipliers, raises volatility to extreme, and offers a top prize of 40,000x the stake.

Key takeaways

  • 6×5 grid with scatter pays (8+ matching symbols anywhere) and cascading wins
  • RTP up to 96.00%, extreme volatility, max win 40,000x
  • Position multipliers double with each win, up to x16,384 per position
  • xWays, Infectious xWays and Bomb symbols, plus three free spins modes
  • Six Feature Buy options priced from 80x to 2,800x, plus Boosters and Side Hustles
  • Released to all Nolimit City partners on 10 September 2026, after a week of exclusive early access

The first Duck Hunters was a light-hearted day out with the hunting party. The sequel is darker. Nolimit City describes a "more chaotic setting" deeper in the forest, where the birds have stopped migrating and started fighting back. Premium symbols include Fanboy, Gamer, Phil, Granny and even Santa. Low-paying symbols are hunting gear and camp supplies: slingshots, eggs, canned meat and firearms.

The slot uses a 6×5 grid with no paylines. Land eight or more matching symbols anywhere to win. Winning symbols disappear, new ones fall into place, and the cascade can keep paying on the same spin. The best regular win is 12 or more premium symbols, which pays up to 6x the stake. The real money in this game comes from the multipliers.

From the Original Hunt to the Sequel

The original Duck Hunters went live on 11 February 2025. It offered a 96.05% RTP, a 30,000x ceiling and position multipliers that stopped at x8,192, and its Bomb worked differently, clearing a 3×3 area and doubling symbol size on the affected spots. The family returned in Duck Hunters: Happy Hour, released on 13 January 2026 with a 4-5-6-6-5-4 reel layout and a 33,333x maximum payout. The sequel reached operators with exclusive early access on 3 September 2026 and became available to all of the studio's partners on 10 September.

The studio has been part of Evolution, the Stockholm-based live casino software supplier listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, since that group acquired Nolimit City in 2022. Nolimit City's head of product explained why the team went back to the franchise:

"We knew if we were revisiting Duck Hunters, we had to do it properly. So we've taken everything that worked in the original and given Bubba a bigger toolbox."

— Per Lindheimer, Head of Product, Nolimit City

Multipliers That Keep Doubling

The main feature carries over from the first game. Each spot on the grid that takes part in a win gets a position multiplier that starts at x2. Every further win on that spot doubles it, up to x16,384. Some spins also start with random multipliers already on the grid.

Several special symbols help build those multipliers:

  • Wilds replace any regular paying symbol.
  • xWays symbols turn into matching symbols and multiply their position by 2x, 4x or 8x.
  • Infectious xWays turn every matching symbol on the grid into the same expanded symbol.
  • Bombs remove themselves and the symbols above them and raise the multipliers on those spots. In the bonus rounds, upgraded Bombs remove symbols both above and below.

According to the game rules, a Bomb only goes off once no winning combinations are left on the reels. The spot it occupied gains x2, the position one row up gains x4, the next x8, and the boost keeps doubling toward the top of the reel. Bonus symbols survive the blast, and when several xWays symbols land together they all reveal the same symbol.

Three Free Spins Modes

Scatter symbols trigger the bonus. Each free spins mode comes with a set number of upgrades:

  • 3 scatters: Duck Hunt Spins, 7 spins with 1 upgrade
  • 4 scatters: Hawk Eye Spins, 8 spins with 2 upgrades
  • 5 scatters: Big Game Spins, 10 spins with 3 upgrades

Multipliers don't reset between spins during free spins, so they can keep growing through the whole round. Upgrades can give upgraded xWays, upgraded Bombs, extra spins, extra multipliers or more upgrades.

The upgrade pool has six entries. Extra +2 Shots swaps the Extra +1 Shot symbol, which normally adds one spin, for a version worth two. Extra Multipliers drops five additional multipliers on random positions on the first spin, +1 Spin adds a spin at the start, and +2 Upgrades hands out two more draws from the pool. The original game had only three possible upgrades.

Feature Buys, Boosters and Side Hustles

Like most recent Nolimit City slots, Duck Hunters 2 offers many paid features for players who don't want to wait for the bonus:

  • Duck Hunt Spins: 80x bet
  • Hawk Eye Spins: 240x bet
  • Lucky Draw: 275x bet, gives one of the bonus modes at random
  • xWays Juicer: 500x bet, Infectious xWays guaranteed on every spin
  • Big Game Spins: 700x bet
  • Bomb Juicer: 2,800x bet, upgraded Bombs guaranteed

Both Juicer modes run for seven spins, and in each the guaranteed upgrade is the only one on offer.

Boosters can guarantee scatters or start every position with a multiplier between x8 and x2,048. Side Hustles let players raise their stake for side bets on specific results. These include hitting the full x16,384 multiplier, landing at least two bonus scatters in the base game, getting dead spins, or removing chosen high-paying symbols.

The rules list the Booster prices. The Bonus Booster costs 3x the bet and guarantees a bonus symbol on the second reel, while Bonus Hunt, at 30x, guarantees one on the opening spin and on every avalanche that follows. The Day Spins ladder starts all positions at x8 for 10x, x64 for 90x, x512 for 800x and x2,048 for 4,000x. The symbol Side Hustles are named Kill Santa, Kill Granny, Kill Phil, Kill Gamer, Kill Fanboy and Kill Duck, and several Side Hustles can run at the same time. After a round, the xTra Spin option may offer one more spin that keeps the existing multipliers, or a cheaper one with them halved. It only appears when its price does not exceed the previous win.

Duck Hunters 2 is built for players who like high-risk, high-reward slots. The hit rate is under one in five spins, and the top win comes up about once in 88 million spins, so long losing streaks are normal. Operators can also run it at lower RTP settings, so it's worth checking which version a casino offers before playing. Most wins will be modest, but the game can pay very large amounts when the multipliers line up.

The 40,000x cap is enforced strictly: once a round's total win passes that figure, the round ends and the maximum is paid. UK players will find stakes running from 20p to £5.
